Mercy Care to Host its Annual “Camp Happy Hearts”

Posted By: | October 20, 2012

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Children who have suffered a loss – through the death of a loved one or foster care placement – are invited to attend the fall edition of Mercy Care's bi-annual Camp Happy Hearts. This year, the camp will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach at Fantasy Harbor Saturday October, 20th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Camp Happy Hearts is one component of Mercy's comprehensive children's program. Mercy offers individual and group counseling for suffering children. Mercy works closely with the school systems and Department of Social Services to identify children who can benefit from working with our highly trained counselors.

Funding for the camp is made possible through many kinds of donations and through the fundraising efforts of a local golf tournament sponsored by Mike and Suzie Wheeler. The camp is staffed by Mercy employees and volunteers. Area schools have also provided student volunteers in the past.

For more information on Camp Happy Hearts, contact Tom Badurski, director of special projects, at 843.848.6480 or visit www.mercyhospice.org.
