Marion Dignan

Office Volunteer of the Quarter

Mercy Hospice is proud to recognize the “Office Volunteer of the Quarter”, Marion Dignan. Marion and her husband, Joseph, moved to the Myrtle Beach area nineteen years ago from New Jersey. In 1994, after losing her husband, Marion noticed in the St. Andrews Catholic Church bulletin that Mercy Hospice was seeking volunteers. Marion became a volunteer in 1994 and has given countless hours to Mercy since then.

This past quarter, Marion unselfishly gave Mercy Hospice over 52 office hours. Every Tuesday, Marion comes to the office and sends cards to donors and bereaved families. Afterwards, she calls bereaved caregivers to see how they are coping and if they are in need of any other assistance or grief counseling.

Marion has been a member of Mercy’s volunteer team for fourteen years and her past experience as a legal secretary prepared her to assist with many Mercy Hospice office positions. Thanks Marion for your many years of service to Mercy Hospice!
